Getting There by Train

Smile Solutions is within easy walking distance of three major Melbourne train stations and is one of the most accessible dental practices in the city for public transport users.

### By Metro Rail (fastest option)

**Town Hall Station (Metro Tunnel)** - directly diagonally opposite the Manchester Unity Building. The new Metro Rail runs every 3-4 minutes, providing direct access from suburbs across Melbourne. Step off the train and you are literally at the doorstep of Smile Solutions. This makes Smile Solutions arguably the most accessible specialist and general dental practice in Melbourne by public transport.

### By Train

Flinders Street Station is approximately a five-minute walk north up Swanston Street. Exit via the Elizabeth Street or Swanston Street exits, walk north up Swanston Street and turn left onto Collins Street. The Manchester Unity Building is on the right-hand side at the corner of Collins and Swanston Streets.

Melbourne Central Station is approximately a five-minute walk south along Swanston Street. Exit onto Swanston Street and walk south towards Collins Street. The practice is at the intersection.

Southern Cross Station is approximately a ten-minute walk east along Collins Street. Exit onto Collins Street and walk east towards the city. The Manchester Unity Building tower is visible on the skyline as you approach the Swanston Street intersection.

Getting There by Tram

Melbourne's CBD tram network provides frequent services to stops directly adjacent to or very close to Smile Solutions.

Stop 6 - Melbourne Town Hall / Collins Street
This stop is located directly in front of the Manchester Unity Building on Collins Street. It is served by routes 11, 12, 48, and 109, all of which run along Collins Street. This is the most convenient stop for patients travelling from the east or west along Collins Street.

Stop 11 - City Square / Swanston Street
This stop is at the corner of Collins and Swanston Streets, adjacent to the building entrance. It is served by routes 1, 3, 3a, 5, 6, 16, 64, 67, and 72, which run along Swanston Street from north and south of the CBD.

Both stops are within Melbourne's Free Tram Zone. No ticket is required for tram travel within this zone, making a tram trip to Smile Solutions entirely free for most CBD visitors.

Getting There by Car

The Melbourne CBD has numerous public car parks within a short walk of 220 Collins Street. Driving is a practical option for patients travelling from suburbs not well-served by public transport, for early morning appointments, or for patients with mobility considerations.

Wilson Parking, Flinders Lane (between Swanston and Russell Streets) is the nearest major car park to Smile Solutions and is accessible from both Swanston Street and Russell Street. It is approximately a two-minute walk from the Manchester Unity Building entrance on Collins Street.

QV Car Park on Lonsdale Street provides additional parking capacity and is approximately a five-minute walk via Swanston Street.

Several other public car parks operate within the immediate CBD surrounding the practice, including facilities on Russell Street and in nearby laneways. Parking availability and hourly rates vary by time of day and day of week. Early morning appointments typically offer easier access and lower rates than midday or peak CBD trading hours.

Ride-share drop-off and taxi access is straightforward via Collins Street or Swanston Street, both of which have accessible kerb zones in front of and adjacent to the building.

About the Manchester Unity Building

Designed by architect Marcus Barlow and completed in 1933, the Manchester Unity Building is one of Melbourne's finest examples of Art Deco commercial architecture and is listed on the Victorian Heritage Register. The ground floor arcade, with its patterned terrazzo floor and ornate bronze shopfronts, is a Melbourne landmark in its own right.

For many patients, visiting Smile Solutions means attending a dental appointment in a building of genuine cultural and architectural significance. For patients who experience anxiety around dental visits, the warm, heritage aesthetic of the Manchester Unity Building is often noted as meaningfully different from the standard clinical environment - a quality that the practice considers part of the patient experience, not incidental to it.

The building is fully accessible by lift from the ground floor arcade to all practice floors.
