Digital OPG and CBCT Scanning

Collins Street Imaging provides two core radiographic services:

• Digital OPG (Orthopantomogram) - a panoramic X-ray that captures the full dentition, jaw, sinuses and temporomandibular joints in a single image. This is the standard baseline imaging for implant planning, orthodontic assessment, and general screening.

• CBCT (Cone Beam Computed Tomography) - three-dimensional volumetric imaging of the jaws, teeth, and supporting structures. CBCT is essential for precise implant planning, assessment of nerve and sinus anatomy, endodontic evaluation, and complex surgical planning. It provides detail that conventional X-rays cannot deliver.

A Radiographer Available During All Clinical Hours

Collins Street Imaging is staffed by qualified radiographers throughout all clinical hours. Patients do not book separately and wait days for imaging. When a clinician at Smile Solutions requires an OPG or CBCT, it happens the same visit - with results available immediately for clinical review.

Specialist Reporting - Partnered with MFI Radiology

For complex cases requiring specialist radiological interpretation, Collins Street Imaging works in partnership with MFI Radiology - providing specialist head and neck radiologist reporting. This means that when a CBCT reveals an incidental finding, or when a complex case requires a formal radiological opinion, that reporting is provided by qualified medical radiologists with head and neck subspecialty expertise.

This level of radiological oversight is not available at ordinary dental practices.

Consistent Imaging Across All Departments

Because imaging is in-house, all departments at Smile Solutions - orthodontics, periodontics, oral surgery, prosthodontics, endodontics, general and cosmetic dentistry - use the same imaging systems and access the same image library.
