Toothache and Dental Abscess Severe toothache, particularly when accompanied by facial swelling, a bad taste or fever, usually indicates an infected tooth requiring urgent treatment. A dental abscess is a serious infection that should not be managed with painkillers alone. At Smile Solutions, we can assess the cause of pain, arrange X-rays, provide pain relief, and begin definitive treatment (including root canal treatment or extraction if necessary) on the day.

Broken or Chipped Tooth A fall, sports injury, biting on something hard or a pre-existing crack can result in a fractured tooth. Depending on the extent of the damage, same-day repair with composite bonding, a veneer or a crown may be possible.

Lost or Dislodged Crown or Filling A loose or lost restoration leaves tooth structure exposed and vulnerable. We can re-cement or replace restorations on the same visit.

Lost Dental Veneer Patients who have had veneers placed elsewhere may occasionally have one come loose during their visit. We can assess and re-bond veneers in most cases.

Dental Trauma Trauma to the teeth or jaw can result in displaced, loosened or avulsed (knocked-out) teeth. In the case of a knocked-out permanent tooth, time is critical: the tooth should ideally be reimplanted within 30 minutes. Handle the tooth by the crown (not the root), keep it moist (in milk, saliva or saline), and call us immediately on 13 13 96.

Orthodontic Emergencies Broken brackets, loose wires and lost retainers can cause discomfort and delay treatment. Our team can provide temporary relief and basic orthodontic adjustments.
