Christensen Medal for Part I exams during his surgical training.\n\nHe completed his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgical training in Adelaide, from where he passed Part II exams with RACDS and was awarded the FRACDS (OMS) fellowship.\n\nHe then undertook a further 12 months of sub-specialty training in paediatric maxillofacial surgery and corrective jaw surgery as a fellowship at the Royal Children's Hospital in Melbourne.
