About Dr Simon Hinckfuss

Dr Simon Hinckfuss is a registered Specialist Periodontist at Smile Solutions, and he's the only Periodontist in Australia who also holds Specialist Prosthodontist registration. Simon completed his undergraduate degree (BDSc) in dentistry at the University of Melbourne in 1995. He then served as a Dental Officer in the Royal Australian Air Force before spending six years in general practice in Geelong, where he developed his patient-focused approach to care. In 2007, he completed a three-year full-time specialist degree in Prosthodontics (DCD) at the University of Melbourne, followed by another three years of intensive specialist training in Periodontics at an international institution. During his specialist training, Simon researched how surgical experience and surgical guide design affect the accuracy of dental implant surgery-work that still informs his approach to implant placement.
