The Manchester Unity Building is a heritage-listed Art Deco landmark completed in 1933. Its distinctive tower is visible from several blocks along Collins Street and is one of the most photographed buildings in the Melbourne CBD. When you arrive, enter through the Collins Street entrance, walk through the ground floor arcade, and take the heritage lift to your designated floor.

Different departments are spread across several floors:

Getting there by train

Smile Solutions is within easy walking distance of three major Melbourne train stations.

Metro Rail (fastest option)

Town Hall Station (Metro Tunnel) sits directly opposite the Manchester Unity Building. The Metro Rail runs every 3–4 minutes, with direct access from suburbs across Melbourne — step off the train and you're essentially at the door.

Other train stations

Flinders Street Station is about a five-minute walk north up Swanston Street. Exit via Elizabeth Street or Swanston Street, head north up Swanston Street, then turn left onto Collins Street. The Manchester Unity Building is on the right at the corner.

Melbourne Central Station is also about five minutes away, heading south along Swanston Street to Collins Street — you'll arrive right at the intersection.

Southern Cross Station is roughly a ten-minute walk east along Collins Street. The Manchester Unity Building tower is visible on the skyline as you approach Swanston Street.

Getting there by tram

Two tram stops sit right at the building's doorstep.

Stop 6 – Melbourne Town Hall / Collins Street is directly in front of the Manchester Unity Building on Collins Street, served by routes 11, 12, 48, and 109. This is the most convenient stop if you're travelling from the east or west along Collins Street.

Stop 11 – City Square / Swanston Street is at the corner of Collins and Swanston Streets, adjacent to the building entrance, served by routes 1, 3, 3a, 5, 6, 16, 64, 67, and 72 running along Swanston Street from north and south of the CBD.

Both stops fall within Melbourne's Free Tram Zone, so no ticket is required for tram travel within this area.

Getting there by car

The CBD has several public car parks within a short walk of 220 Collins Street. Driving makes sense if you're coming from suburbs with limited public transport, have an early morning appointment, or have mobility considerations.

Wilson Parking, Flinders Lane (between Swanston and Russell Streets) is the nearest major car park, accessible from both Swanston Street and Russell Street and about a two-minute walk from the Manchester Unity Building entrance.

QV Car Park on Lonsdale Street is another option, roughly five minutes away via Swanston Street.

Several other public car parks operate nearby, including facilities on Russell Street and in surrounding laneways. Rates and availability vary by time of day — early morning appointments generally mean easier parking and lower costs than midday or peak CBD hours.

Ride-share and taxi drop-off is straightforward via Collins Street or Swanston Street, both of which have accessible kerb zones in front of and beside the building.

Monday to Friday: 8:00am to 6:00pm Saturday: 8:30am to 1:30pm

The practice is closed Sundays and Victorian public holidays. Early morning appointments from 8:00am are available Monday to Friday, and Saturday appointments are available for patients who can't make it during the working week, subject to availability.

About the Manchester Unity Building

Designed by architect Marcus Barlow and completed in 1933, the Manchester Unity Building is one of Melbourne's finest examples of Art Deco commercial architecture and is listed on the Victorian Heritage Register.
